Here is a simple tutorial on how to set up and initially start up re2o. It is intended to be very simple. So there is not a lot of steps to go through here.

Here is a simple tutorial on how to set up and initially start up Re2o. It is intended to be very simple. So there is not a lot of steps to go through here.

# Prerequisite
* A clean Debian installation to start. It can be a standard (virtual) machine but also a container (Docker, LXC, ...). If you want to install the project on a machine with something already installed aside, it is not impossible but you will have to figure by yourself how to do it.
* Access to internet, or at least access to [the project's Git repository](https://gitlab.federez.net/federez/re2o), to [the Debian's APT packages](https://www.debian.org/mirror/list) and to [the pip packages](https://pypi.org/).
* A working mail server that can be used by your machine. This is optional but some features will be unavailable without it so it is highly advised to have one. By default, it assumed you don't use authentication for sending emails but this can be changed later.
# Get the project
The project is meant to be installed in `/var/www/re2o`. *If you want to change that, you will have to slightly tweak the web server (Apache2, Nginx, ...) configuration.*
Re2o shouldn't be moved after installation otherwise you might need to slightly tweak the web server (Apache2, Nginx, ...) configuration.
Go somewhere safe where you want Re2o to be, then :
```
mkdir -p /var/www/
cd /var/www/
git clone https://gitlab.federez.net/federez/re2o.git
cd re2o
```
# Run the setup script
Everything can be installed by the `install_re2o.sh` script. It the recommended way to perform the setup. Run the following command and follow the interactive guide by answering the question. Once all the questions have been answered, the script will perform all the steps of the setup automatically.
```
sudo ./install_re2o.sh setup
```
*:warning: It may take up to 10 minutes for the script to finish.*
For more information on the script visit the [install_re2o.sh wiki page](/User Documentation/Setup script). |

# Update Re2o
To update to the latest changes on your current branch (stable by default), go in `re2o` directory then :
```
git pull
sudo ./install_re2o.sh update
``` |
